Over the past few months, there have been signs of a reappearance. A bit of nifty foot tapping here and there. The odd purchase on iTunes. Snatches of long forgotten lyrics shouted in time with a track on my iPhone. (Other download sites and media players are available – BUT WHY WOULD YOU USE THEM FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!!).
Yesterday it returned. With a vengeance.
Ever since I first chuckled at Johnny Morris and Animal Magic, putting words into the mouths and beaks of non-humans has always made me laugh. To show my age even further, this should come as no surprise, as my generation also grew up watching Mister Ed, Clarence the Cross-eyed Lion and Hanna Barbera cartoons. I could go on.
Instead, just accept that no non-humans were harmed to produce these strips, no disrespect is meant – its just the way I see things sometimes.
So, I’m starting a new series – “Why’s He Looking At Us?”
Hi! I’m Phil.
I am a child of the 50’s, who’s musical tastes were moulded by the 70’s. I am married to Rebecca, with one grown-up son, Ben. I live in Leeds, UK and my interests include birding, photography, walking, food and drink. Sometimes, if I’m really lucky, I get to indulge in all of them at the same time!
Having discovered the iPad App “ComicBook”, I have to confess that I’m addicted. I wanted a separate place to post my creations, apart from my Flickr, Blipfoto and my Patch Birding web site entries. So I started this blog.
Thus far I have four strips running :
Thought For The Day – featuring my occasional ramblings
At Home With The Waltons – what’s going on around me at home in Leeds
Away With The Waltons – what happens when we are on holiday
Why Is He Looking At Us – unashamed anthropomorphism
I hope you get a laugh or two from these bits of nonsense. Please leave a comment, or Tweet to @PhilWWalton
